Salary

This role pays £23,660 per year. Plus 28 days holiday (increasing by 1 day for every year of service, up to 33 days), and we're closed over Christmas, New Year and Easter Weekend.

Hours

The role will work 35 hours per week. The days and shifts will be agreed in advance and may change week to week. The majority of shifts will be in the evenings and weekends. During University vacation time, shifts will be mainly during the day.

Role Overview

As the Duty Manager, you’re the captain of our ship during your shift. You make sure our food and beverage operations are more than just functional—they’re fantastic. You’re all about ensuring everyone who walks through our doors has a great time and leaves with a bigger smile.

principal duties

  • Responsible for all operational activities of running the F&B department in the absence of the Bar & Catering Manager.
  • Ensure the F&B department is presented to a high standard at all times.
  • Management of stock, ensuring stock levels are maintained and supporting stock takes, overseeing orders and deliveries ensuring they are recorded correctly & monitoring wastage, ensuring it is recorded.
  • Work alongside the cook to maintain standards and monitor Food Hygiene.
  • Responsible for managing staff on shift to ensure the departments operate smoothly and efficiently, standards are maintained and staff are skilled and motivated
  • Working with the Head of Commercial Development and Bar & Catering Manager, support the introduction of new income streams, concepts and opportunities as required, ensuring staff are well informed and motivated.
  • Work with Bar & Catering Manager to create and deliver events
  • Responsibility for cash held on-site, including regular safe checks.
  • Responsible for supporting health and safety, compliance, loss prevention and process management relating to Food & Beverage operations
  • Key holder, with responsibility for opening / closing when required
  • Support the Head of Commercial Development and Bar & Catering Manager
