Salary

up to £12 per hour

Hours

This role will have varied hours, with shifts primarily being during the day, working around your timetable. You are asked to commit to working around 10 hours per week.

Interview

Interviews will take place 21st - 23rd August 2024 to ensure we have the right team in time for Freshers Week. If you are unable to attend an interview in this period, we will not be able to offer you a place on the team.

Job Duration

This role's contract will start with a half-day of training on 29th August 2024. The contract will end on the last day of the academic year in May 2025.

Jump into action as a member of our Reception Team where your warmth and drive to provide exceptional support will make our students' days brighter. Whether you're greeting visitors with a smile, taking a room booking or making sure our meeting rooms are spick and span, you're the first contact many people will have with us.

  • Keep the Buzz Going: Juggle room bookings, tidy meeting rooms, assist with admin tasks, and sell event tickets - all while keeping everything running smoothly and cheerfully.

Principal Duties

  • Be the face of HWUnion for all enquiries
  • Always have a warm, friendly welcome and excellent customer service to every visitor
  • Be an effective, friendly and efficient point of contact for our students
  • Have the knowledge to make you the resource for information about us and our students
  • Answer calls, take messages and refer visitors to the relevant people as needed
  • Assist in general admin duties such as printing, photocopying, shredding etc
  • Encourage dialogue with our visitors, to shout about what we're doing and what's going on
  • Sometimes you might sell tickets to our events

Other Duties

  • Any other duties deemed appropriate for the role by the Line Manager.
  • Comply with all HWUnion policies, procedures, and governing documents.
  • Undertake personal and professional development as required to maintain appropriate knowledge and skills.
  • These duties are a guide to the work that the post holder will initially be required to undertake. Other duties or a change of duties may be necessary from time to time.

Training

In order to accept this role, you must be available to attend mandatory training - the times and dates are shown below and you must attend all dates / times listed. This training is not optional and you will be paid, but you must be able to attend in-person. We have high standards that we intend to maintain, so require all staff to complete training prior to Freshers Week and the academic year starting.
