up to £12 per hour
Hours
This role will have varied hours, with shifts primarily being in the evening and weekends of between 6 to 8 hours. You are asked to commit to working at least 2 shifts per week during term-time.
Interview
Interviews will take place 21st - 23rd August 2024 to ensure we have the right team in time for Freshers Week. If you are unable to attend an interview in this period, we will not be able to offer you a place on the team.
Job Duration
This role's contract will start with 3 days of training 27th - 29th August 2024. The contract will end on the last day of the academic year in May 2025.

Role Overview
As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in the heart of our food service operations at Liberty’s and Geordies. From prep to presentation, your hands will help dish out a delightful culinary experience for our students.

- Culinary Craft:Whip up delicious meals, ensuring each dish is as pleasing to the eyes as it is to the palate.
- Sanitation Savvy: Keep our kitchen sparkling and food-safe, making sure every spoon and surface is spotless.
- Service with a Smile: Assist in serving up smiles with every meal handed over the counter.

Principal Duties
- Preparing, cooking and serving food to customers
- Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen areas, dishes, utensils, and equipment
- Provision of service to table and clearing as needed
- Handling deliveries, organising food and other items in the stockroom
- Compliance with current regulations and legislation relevant to the post.
- Opening and closing the outlet.
- Dealing with customer enquiries or complaints
- Support to deliver event catering as required
Other Duties
- Any other duties deemed appropriate for the role by the Line Manager.
- Comply with all HWUnion policies, procedures, and governing documents.
- Undertake personal and professional development as required to maintain appropriate knowledge and skills.
- These duties are a guide to the work that the post holder will initially be required to undertake. Other duties or a change of duties may be necessary from time to time.

Training
In order to accept this role, you must be available to attend mandatory training - the times and dates are shown below and you must attend all dates / times listed. This training is not optional and you will be paid, but you must be able to attend in-person. We have high standards that we intend to maintain, so require all staff to complete training prior to Freshers Week and the academic year starting.
