What is MATES?
MATES is a scheme where students can find others to attend society/sports club events with so that they know someone when they turn up. We've set this up to encourage new members to join different societies and try things that they might not otherwise, as well as get over that fear of turning up and not knowing anyone.
When we have a new member for your society, we'll let you know via your society email address, it's up to you how you choose to introduce the new member, you might want to meet them before hand, or simply invite them to one of your events and spend some time with them introducing them to new people at the society.
