Our primary font is called Azo Sans. It is used in the logo, and the bespoke HW logo motif is also based off the letter 'U' in Azo Sans Black. This font is only available to use in Adobe CC, so we have a system font that you can use in it's place - especially if the document will be used on a different computer where Azo Sans won't be available.
System Font
Our system font is Arial. This font is available on all PCs as it is a default font that comes with all major operating systems - this is great to make sure our documents don't display differently if opened by someone else.
Arial is available in different weights and styles, which lets us create interesting and playful typographic designs.
Display Font
A display font is used for major headings, such as the main title on a poster. In these situations, Arial Black in italics should be used - preferably with the character spacing increased.
Copy Font
A copy font is the font that is used for the majority of written content, such as the main body of a letter. For this we use standard Arial.
Other bits to note...
- We don't underline text to highlight it. Instead use the bold style to highlight particular words of phrases if appropriate.
- In the majority of cases, font colour should only be black, pink, blue or grey. Colour should be used sparingly, and only for titles or to highlight key sections or phrases.
- Where possible, use the template documents in the templates section as these have styles pre-created for you to ensure your document looks great.
