Homelessness

More than 1 in 10 students report that they have been homeless since starting their studies.

Homelessness can mean a range of things, from temporarily having to move out while you wait for a new accomodation contract to start, to sofa surfing, to having nowhere to stay.

Shelter Scotland have a range of resource to help, including links to emergency help, and you can find more information here.

We also have information about financial help here, and if you're facing homelesness, there are several funds that you may be eligible for.

Showers on campus

If you are based on the Edinburgh Campus, you can find a map of showers in our Your Campus section, you can also shower in the GRID building, and any student or staff member can use the showers in Oriam free of charge. The showers are accessed via the main Oriam reception in the changing rooms on the left hand side as you go along the street corridor. Both male and female showers are available with cubicle showers. You do not need to speak to Oriam reception staff if you don't wish, as there are no ticket gates.
